State Advisory Committees take proactive role for the implementation of the provisions of BOCW Act and Schemes framed there under.
Mr. Bandaru Dattatraya , the Minister for Labour & Employment (IC) asked the states to ensure that the State Advisory Committee in States/UTs meet at least once in every three months and takes a proactive role in the implementation of the welfare schemes under the Act. He further added that the directions issued so far under section 60 by the Ministry of Labour and Employment and the directions of the Supreme Court dated 16.10.2015 are complied with.
The Minister said this in Letters written today to Chief Ministers of States/UTs regarding the poor implementation of Building and Other Construction workers BOCW Act 1996 and to ensure that State Advisory Committees take proactive role for the implementation of the provisions of BOCW Act and Schemes framed there under.
