USPA NEWS -
On Wednesday in the afternoon Riots took place in the church of a small city Moirans, caused by a group of people from the "community of nomadic ". They protest the refusal to allow the brother, currently incarcerated, to be freed for attending the funeral of a 17 year old, died in a crash accident.
VIOLENCE RIOTS SPARKED BY THE REFUSAL OF A JUDGE OF APPLICATION OF PENALTIES TO ENABLE A GYPSY PRISONER FOR ATTENDING HIS BROTHER'S FUNERAL----------------------------------------------------------------
This authorisation was denied by the judge in the morning application of penalties, making up the tension in the small town of Isère, still traumatised by the riots the day before. A group of people from the "community of Nomadic" has settled in Moirans for 10 years. Hardware stores were ransacked and hundreds of cars burned to vent their anger. They claim, after the violence, the absence of one of them, incarcerated at the Remand.------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Nomadics, long settled in the town, had risen Tuesday afternoon, with extensive damage by burning cars blocking the railway traffic between Lyon and Grenoble under the stunned eyes of the owners of these vehicles, after the rejection of a first request temporary exit from prison.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The funeral of a young belonging to the community of Nomadics were finally held in a precarious calm Moirans Wednesday, after the intervention of the 200 policemen and of gendarmerie, to to restore public order.
"Calm has returned but remains on high alert to monitor the situation," said the prefect of Isère, Jean Paul Bonnetain.
The Mayor of Moisans, Gerard Simonet says he knows well this community of Gypsies, that became sedentary for several years has Moirans, and who never committed such acts of violence so far. He adds that he doesn't understand the proportion of such magnitude and violence.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for the prosecutor of the republic, Jean Yves Coquetat, he explains that a long investigation was launched and will take time to identify the perpetrators of riots and degradations of public and private property, and will be sanctioned.
The population of Moirans is still in shock because they consider that their small town of 7,800 inhabitants (next to Grenoble in Isere) was a very quite little town, so far. At the Chamber of representatives (National Assembly), Prime Minister Manuel Valls has promised before the deputies that the perpetrators of the violence of the riots would "be relentlessly under investigation and prosecuted."
