Spanish Police found the body of American pilgrim Denise Thiem

USPA NEWS - Spanish Police have found a body in an advanced state of decomposition that in the absence of forensic evidence that she practiced, seems to be the American pilgrim Denise Thiem, 41, disappeared last April 5 while on the road of Santiago.

The body was hidden among foliage on a farm in the town of Castillo de Polvazares, in the province of Leon, near the town of Astorga, where she was last seen Denise Thiem. The officers were taken to that place by the main suspect in the disappearance of women, Miguel Angel MB, who confessed to knowing where the body was. The man was arrested on Friday afternoon in Grandas de Saline, in the province of Asturias, Northern Spain, and was later moved to a farm he owned in the province of Leon, where the body was found.

Locals explained to reporters that the man was not very sociable nor spent much time at his estate in Castillo de Polvazares, but said it was not the first time that bothered the pilgrims who pass through the area following the road of Santiago. Last week fled without a trace. Police reached him after several months of investigations and, after confirming his suspicions, effective Thursday seeking the body of Denise Thiem up to 300 police officers and army specialists in underground operations increased.

Denise Thiem disappeared on April 5 in the town of Astorga. It is known that the day before had stayed in a hostel for pilgrims in Hospital de Orbigo, Astorga area. His family warned of the disappearance from the United States and the Spanish Police opened an investigation that lasted more than five months.
