COVID-19 News Has Lessened Along with the Numbers

USPA NEWS - COVID-19 reports have become few and far between as of late, overshadowed by the conflict in eastern Europe. A reduction of new cases, deaths, and the lifting of mandates and restrictions are some of the favorable news coming out.

As of today, March 12th, the average daily Covid cases in the United States is 37,257, down 48% from two weeks ago. While the average daily deaths is 1,338, down 32.3%. The total amount of confirmed cases in the United States is 79,684,254 and total deaths 971,545. The state of Nebraska continues to be a hotspot, with an increase of cases of more than 500% in the last two weeks.

Mask mandates are being lifted across the country. The city of Baltimore no longer required masks indoors on March 1st. The state of Oregon will no longer require individuals to wear masks indoors in public places or schools starting March 19th. Most other states’ mandates will be lifted by the first of April.

A note of good news for airline travelers, the FAA mask mandate is set to end on April 18th. There is a possibility that it may be extended. Many airlines want it to go away, as it is the biggest cause of onboard disruptions.

For anyone that feels more comfortable wearing a mask to protect themselves and their family, do what is right for you. Check your state’s official website to stay current on the guidelines as they apply to you.
