USPA NEWS -
The French Prime Minister detailed yesterday noon the pension reform project. Regarding the self-employed, Edouard Philippe said he wanted "to give himself 15 years to align the contributions". As a reminder, in 2017, the government decided to attach the social security scheme for the self-employed (RSI) to the general system, with a gradual implementation between January 1, 2018 and January 1, 2020. Thus, in a few days, the RSI n will no longer exist. According to an IFOP survey for Freelance.com on "Private executives and new forms of work", the full results of which will be communicated next January, 61% of executives think that "the attachment of the social system of the self-employed (RSI ) to the general pension scheme is likely to influence the decision to start as a Freelance “. The attachment to the general pension scheme would therefore not make everyone unhappy. In the present case, it would even be perceived as a positive element!
Also according to this IFOP survey for Freelance.com, 77% of executives have "a good opinion of freelance status" and 32% have even "already thought of resigning from their position to start freelance". However, the vast majority did not complete the process, mainly (for 63% of them) because of "the risk that this represents". This new form of work, which allows you to gain autonomy and develop your skills, can both appeal to and cause concern ... If the attachment to the general pension scheme seems to be rather perceived as a reassuring element, both for freelancers and executives likely to go freelance, many questions remain:
How will the contribution rates of the self-employed evolve?
What will be the pension levels of the self-employed?
The French PM, Edouard Philippe said he wanted "to give himself 15 years to align the contributions". How can freelancers and managers who wish to adopt this form of work plan for the long term in a changing regulatory environment?
