Press Release ““ HOT SPRINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT (Corporal Kirk Zaner)
On August 7, 2017 at approximately 8:48 p.m., officers with the Hot Springs Police Department responded to a shooting at the Valero gas station, located at 1201 Central Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Derek Antonie Duvall laying in the parking lot on the south side of the gas station. Mr. Duvall, age 29, from Hot Springs had been shot once in his chest. CPR was administered to Mr. Duvall until LifeNet arrived. Once on scene, LifeNet personnel took over CPR, but were unsuccessful in resuscitating Mr. Duvall.
The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Valero, near the gas pumps. After being shot, Mr. Duvall ran a short distance and collapsed near the south side of the Valero. No suspect information is available at this time.
Detectives have interviewed multiple people and are following up on investigative leads. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Hot Springs Police Department at 501-321-6789.
