The church had not been in use over the Easter period when all parish ceremonies took place in Saint Mel´s Cathedral in Longford town.
Bishop Duffy visited the scene of the break-in
Speaking afterwards he said, “This act of desecration is disrespectful to religion and to the local community. It is extremely upsetting for the parishioners and the clergy here in Longford that something like this could happen, but especially during Holy Week.
“The tabernacle is the centre piece of every Mass as it holds the sacred Communion hosts. It holds the bread that we believe has been transformed into the body of Christ. That is what we believe and that is why this act of desecration is so distressing.
“The tabernacle is of great significance to the local parish here. We would love to be able to get it back so I appeal this Easter Sunday morning for anyone with any information to contact the Gardai at Longford Garda Station (police)
Do these people understand the consequences what they have done,Do they fully understand what comes next for them.
Easter Sunday is the most important day on pir church calendar and breaking into a church and steeling the dwelling place of the body of Christ, leaves them people in a state of no return out of free will they have decided to make a choice, a choice of no return with a double Impact on their generations to come in Canon law it states that one of the most serious Crimes of the desecration of the Blessed Eucharist these people have automatically excommunicated themselves because of the act of Evil that they have committed against the blessed sacrament in the tabernacle.
What next for the Devil's minions if they have a conscience it woild be good to them to return the tabernacle to the bishops and beg the bishop to ask God to forgive them, the Bishops forgiveness is no good for this
Crime against the body of Christ forgiveness can only come from Christ.
