Benoit Hamon, first candidate of the presidential primaries for the French Socialist Party, won the elections, with 59% of the votes. He is the deputy of the Yvelines, 49 years old, and mayor of the city of Trappes. He was in front of Manuel Valls, 54, former Prime Minister of the government.

BENOIT HAMON GATHERED 58,88% OF THE VOTES AGAINST 41,13% FOR THE FORMER PM MANUEL VALLS Benoit Hamon gathered 58.88% of the votes against 41.13% for the former prime minister.
