Following intense discussions, Ségolène Royal has today obtained validation by the European Commission of four support schemes for renewable energies resulting from the law on the energy transition for green growth. The tariff decrees will be published in the coming days in the Official Journal. As a result of intense discussions for which the Minister has fully mobilized, the validated support measures concern four major sectors for the energy transition:
“¢ small methanisation facilities of less than 500 kW,
“¢ hydroelectric facilities of less than 1 MW,
“¢ geothermal installations,
“¢ wind power installations for the year 2016.
These facilities will be able to benefit from a purchase contract for the electricity produced in the form of a purchase price or the new compensation scheme resulting from the law for the green energy transition. The larger methanisation and hydroelectric facilities are supported by calls for tender, already launched by the Minister, and whose winners will be appointed in early 2017.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Segolene Royal announces that from 2017 wind energy will be supported by additional remuneration for small wind farms and by tenders. In line with the new European Commission guidelines on State aid for energy, parks with up to six wind turbines will be supported by additional remuneration. The Minister is about to communicate to the European Commission a draft tariff order so that it can enter into force as soon as possible. To support the development of the wind energy sector, the Minister will shortly launch a multi-year call for tenders over three years, with two project submissions per year. These new support schemes will make it possible to achieve the ambitious renewable energy development objectives set by the law on energy transition and that Ségolène Royal has declined in the multiannual energy program (EPP), published on 28 October.
