Tour Aims At Integrating Students With Nation
A group of 18 students from Haflong district of Assam attending the National Integration Tour, organized by the 43rd Assam Rifles, called on the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Kiren Rijiju on Nov 24. The tour is being organized from 21st-30th November, 2016 to the National Capital and Agra.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rijiju complimented the Assam Rifles for organizing the National Integration Tour, giving children from the remote region an opportunity to visit the national capital and other historic cities to discover the grandeur of India.
While interacting with the students, Mr. Rijiju said that the National Integration Tour is a good initiative taken by the Assam Rifles since this is the first visit outside by the state for all these students. He said that Assam Rifles is the oldest paramilitary force in the country and it not only provides a safe and secure environment in the North-East Region (NER) but also renders social service. The Union Government lays special focus on the Development of Infrastructure in the NER, he added.
The aim of the National Integration Tour is to promote harmony and awareness. The tour is aimed at integrating the students with the nation and promoting concept of unity in diversity. The students will visit landmarks like the Red Fort, Rajghat, India Gate, National Museum, Pragati Maidan and Delhi Metro.
